The Anchor’s bar is a place to settle in, whether you’re calling in for a quick pint, meeting friends for an evening or warming up after a walk. We offer a broad range of real ales, lagers, ciders, wines and spirits, with an emphasis on local producers and suppliers. We aim to keep things simple: well-kept drinks, a friendly atmosphere and a space that feels equally welcoming to locals and visitors.

On warmer days, our terrace is a lovely place to sit with a drink, particularly during the afternoon and evening, with views down the Vale and some beautiful sunsets. It’s a relaxed outdoor space to unwind, catch up and enjoy the village atmosphere.

The Anchor has two wood-burning stoves that help keep the pub warm and cosy through the colder months. They’re ideal for settling down with something to drink and one of our extensive selection of books — or planning the next day’s stretch of the coast path.

Yes, two. They’re part of what makes The Anchor feel like The Anchor: a pub with personality where music and community naturally come together. Our baby grand was regularly played by Sir Peter Pears, one of our most famous opera singers, and pianists visiting The Anchor are very welcome to follow in his footsteps.
